GDS Group strengthens its senior leadership team with 3 new appointments

21st March 2023

GDS Group, a global B2B provider of insight, content, pipeline growth and production services through immersive event experiences, welcomes three new industry visionaries to its senior leadership team.

Heading up the global marketing, sales operations and web development teams at a pivotal moment in its growth and transformation journey is Evelyn Truter, Chief Marketing Officer.

With over 25 years of experience in the tech industry, Evelyn is an accomplished marketer, with a proven track record of building business ideas with impact across high-performing sales and marketing teams. More recently, leading a field marketing team at Xerox across the EMEA region.

“GDS for me brought together three things that I love about work: connecting people, sharing insights, and disruptive technology. Combine these with the ambitious plans that GDS has, and I was hooked. As CMO, my main aim is to build tight relationships between sales, operations, insights and marketing to deliver a performance marketing culture which focusses on customer success to drive our success – which is crucial to everything.”
Evelyn Truter, CMO of GDS Group

Passionate about scaling innovative businesses and taking them to new heights of success is Brendan Condon, who joins GDS Group as its first ever Chief Revenue Officer.

Brendan brings extensive experience managing private equity-backed companies and public corporations. He brings a track record of revenue growth, specializing in multi-platform initiatives within advertising, sales, consumer marketing, strategic planning, operations, and finance. Previously, holding the position of Global Chief Revenue Officer at Captify – the leading Search Intelligence Platform for the open web and the largest independent holder of first-party search data outside of Google. Before that, holding the positions of Chief Revenue Officer at Effectv, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable, as well as Managing Director at AOL Time Warner.

“I am extremely excited to be joining GDS Group at such a significant time on its journey. In an age of digital disruption, I really feel that as a business we are onto something special. With a clear strategy, I’m looking to heighten the awareness of our brand globally by taking the GDS Group brand to new audiences around the world. So, hold on tight because the ride is gonna’ go fast and furious.”

Leading our employee experience function is Tessa James, Vice President of People.

Tessa brings 15 years of experience as a senior HR leader across a range of people-centric industries including hospitality, education and professional services. Most recently, holding the position of HR Director at the UK’s largest apprenticeship provider, Lifetime Training.

“As a business, GDS supports and empowers its people in a dynamic environment to deliver its mission to outpace the speed of change. My role is to ensure that at GDS we deliver an outstanding employee experience to our people, from attracting and hiring the best talent in the marketplace, through to developing, engaging and retaining our people throughout their time at GDS, to support the achievement of our business objectives.”
Tessa James, VP of People at GDS Group

Evelyn, Brendan and Tessa join GDS Group at a time of accelerated growth. In just over two years, GDS has elevated its immersive event experiences to bring real-human interaction into the digital world by connecting global business leaders with solutions that enable organizations to drive transformational change.

These new appointments follow a record-breaking couple of years for the company with the group recording a staggering 98% YoY growth from 2021 to 2022.

“I am thrilled to welcome Evelyn, Brendan and Tessa to our senior leadership team. Their vast multi-sector experience and expertise across their individual disciplines will be invaluable in shaping the future of the GDS Group brand at an immensely exciting time of change and opportunity.
